Gianluca Ferracin’s Das Gewand der
Macht is an imaginary universe inspired by uniforms of Franz Joseph I
von Osterreich, starting from paintings that depict, him. Studying the shapes,
colors and materials used during the Habsburg Empire with imaginary references
to Luchino Visconti’s Senso, Sissi by Ernst Marischka and Robert Wise’s The
Sound of Music, the result are eight jackets and padded pants, characterized by
the colors, inside and outside, of the jackets, with closures designed to
allude to medals.
